At first glance, the Sunlite F2 (which also used to be sold as the F2 MAG Forza) stationary bike stand might not be the ultimate option for your indoor sessions. But trust us, you really should consider this trainer – not just because it typically comes in at just under $100, but also due to its popularity on sites like Amazon; we can even remember a time when this one was the bestseller on Amazon (although now dethroned by the super budget friendly Magnet Steel Trainer).
Another clincher for those of you getting started with indoor trainers is its easy setup process, the Sunlite F2 really has to be one of the easiest to get up and running.
This one is a super-value bike stand, and hey, you might even be able to grab it for even less than the $100 we typically see it marked up for.

That price was definitely a decisive factor, but another important reason to consider this trainer is its quietness.
Let’s face it, you get to ride your actual bike all winter long in the comfort of your own living room or basement with your bike stand. That means that when you work out, you’re probably within earshot of friends or family. And then, take into consideration that you’ll probably work out at often unconventional hours, to fit into your busy lifestyle (and if you don’t have a busy lifestyle, even better!), having a trainer that doesn’t generate much noise is a real blessing – for you and your loved ones! Also be aware that the type of tire used in a training session is also a factor – smooth road bike tires are anyway less likely to make as much noise as rugged mountain bike tires (and if you’re using a mtb tire, get yourself a slick training tire!).
But let’s get back to that price factor for a second…
One of the reasons you should be so willing to try the Sunlite F2 out – and perhaps convince your significant other that you can afford it (if needed) – is the price tag. You may be able to find it for less than the $100 mark if you were to shop around, especially if you were willing to buy it new or used on Amazon. But this is a fraction of the price of most decent home bike trainer stands – especially those we can highly recommend like the CycleOps SuperMagneto or Fluid 2.
The Sunlite F-2 Trainer definitely falls into the “entry level” class of stationary bike stands. It doesn’t offer any frills or extras and is a bare bones model designed to be sold at a great price – in our opinion, a very good price. That price level means that just about anyone starting out can afford this trainer. So, if you’re looking to kick off your indoor riding career, skip the gym and grab yourselves one of these!
A couple more things we should mention just to tempt you further – this bike trainer stand features a heavy duty construction – if a little big and bulky – and a relatively smooth resistance unit (transitioning between gears is pretty smooth). It fits most bikes and features a quick release feature that really does make it easy to get your bike loaded and unloaded into it. If you don’t have a quick release back wheel, there’s also a special adapter you can purchase for another $10 or less, which should fit most bikes.
Is it really super-value?
Overall, I would have to say yes, it is. And it might not come as a surprise to see that this bike stand has made our Top 5 trainers of 2015.
The Sunlite F2 is perfect for those of you starting out, looking to put in a couple of riding sessions a week. For those purposes it’s excellent value and would probably pip the Magnet Steel Trainer for our recommendation. Especially when you’re talking another $30 or so only…
Bearing that in mind, this trainer isn’t the top quality you can expect from the upper-end of the trainer market, and if you’re looking to purchase something for some intensive sessions, you’ll want to look at these models.
